Infant Program

Alphabet toy blocks for learning

Ages 6 weeks - 12 months

Two happy infants strapped into a stroller outside of a daycare, smiling together.

The age children learn how to connect with others and express their needs.

Our infant room teachers pay close attention to each child's needs and meet them in a timely manner, so that the child feels secure and safe in their environment, allowing ample room for learning, growth, and curiosity. We know how important it is for the environment to be calming, positive, and nurturing to your baby during this stage of development.

Infant Program FAQs

How will I know how my infant's day was?

Each day you will receive a paper daily sheet with the times your baby slept, at what times and how much of what foods your baby ate, at what times and the type of diaper changes your baby had throughout the day, and additional notes from your baby's teacher about how their day went and their general mood. (Daily sheets transition to digital daily sheets beginning in our 1 year old program)

How often is the room cleaned & sanitized?

The entire infant classroom is cleaned and sanitized twice every day following our  thorough PKK Classroom Cleaning Checklists.

Should bottles be prepared at home before school each day?

Parents bring bottles of breast milk to be refrigerated, or bottles of water and powder formula to be prepared at school when dropping off each morning.

Is a schedule followed in this classroom?

Parents complete a PKK Infant Profile each month to indicate the optimal sleeping and feeding schedule for their baby - each baby follows their own schedule independent of other infants in the class.

Does each baby have their own designated crib?

Yes, each baby has their own designated crib.

At what age do children start playing outdoors?

Weather permitting, our infants are taken outdoors for 15-30 minutes at a time on our buggy rider. However, children don't begin playing outdoors until they enter our 1 year old program.

Do we bring our own diapers and supplies?

Parents provide diapers, diaper wipes, diaper cream, sunscreen, bug spray, and extra clothes to stay at school in their baby's classroom.

What is the teacher to student ratio in the infant classroom?

We allow a maximum of 4 babies for every 1 teacher in our infant room.
