Keeping our PKK family safe is our number one priority.

As a school, our quick response to COVID-19 has allowed for us to maintain a healthy staff and student population throughout the past year. From the beginning, we made sure that our school is as clean and safe as possible, and that all members of our community - kids, parents, staff, and visitors - are well informed on the coronavirus. Learning together how to understand and manage our stress and anxiety during this global crisis both strengthens and ensures our preschool community's longevity.

About Our Precautions

Find solace in knowing that your child's school community is prioritizing safety.

The following precautions are followed for all PKK kids:

  • Temperature checked upon entering and exiting the building daily

  • Hands washed upon entering and exiting the building, before and after each meal and snack time, after any bathroom use, during activity transitions, and after returning to the classroom from playing outside or in the indoor gym, at a minimum

  • Face mask required for children ages 5+

  • All belongings brought into the building are sanitized

  • Changed into "inside school only" shoes upon entering the building daily

  • Students with fever above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or any other potential symptoms of COVID-19 sent home immediately

Are classroom ratios reduced due to COVID-19?

Yes. In addition to our heightened cleaning procedures, classroom ratios have been reduced in our older age groups as part of our COVID-19 precautions.

Is your staff vaccinated against COVID-19?

Yes! A majority of our staff members have now either received their first dose of the COVID vaccine or have been fully vaccinated.

What happens if a teacher or student tests positive for COVID-19?

As of this writing (May 2021), our school has not had any students or staff test positive for COVID-19. In the event that were to happen, we will immediately contact the local health department as well as Child Care Licensing for guidance as how to proceed with notifying parents, as well as any necessary quarantine periods.

Are parents allowed into the daycare with the COVID-19 safety precautions in place?

Part of our COVID-19 precautions is that parents are not allowed into the building for daily drop-off and pick-up. Our staff and parents conduct drop-off and pick-up just outside the front entrance. However, in the event of an emergency, or for a short-visit such as tours, parents are allowed into the building.

Is my child required to wear a mask?

The only students required to wear masks at PKK are students ages 5 and older that are in Kindergarten - 5th grade.
